Andy James' decades-long experience and expertise are in the dynamics of Interconnection - within individuals, within society, and between individuals and society.

Over the past 400 years, our lives have been increasingly transformed by modern science and our material standard of living raised dramatically higher. Underlying the scientific method is Analysis 'breaking life into ever small fragments' in order to establish direct cause and effect relations. This is an undoubtedly powerful and necessary process in our present everyday lives.

However, looking at life in a predominantly analytical manner entails significant drawbacks, which are not yet widely acknowledged but are becoming more obvious as computer technology quickens the pace of life and broadens its expanse to the Global and perhaps beyond.

For example, on the individual level, although it is convenient to think of ourselves as composed of mind, emotions, instincts and physical body, it is becoming ever more apparent that these various aspects are always interconnected and never separate. Similarly within society, politics, economics, health, national security, culture, religion etc. are all inter-connected and are not individual, single-issue matters of concern and policy. Technology should have made it obvious that global society is irrevocably interconnected, but our leaders, institutions and individuals (voters and consumers alike) at present lag far behind in their understanding of this new reality.

Andy James has lectured and conducted workshops for various levels of government, corporations, universities, schools, hospitals and private groups.  He has been featured in newspapers, magazines, radio and TV.  In accordance with his current focus on bringing spiritual (as opposed to sectarian religious) values to social action, he has been a Presenter at several international conferences, including The Spirituality and Education  Network International Summit (Malibu, March 2007) and the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) Holistic Education Conference (Toronto, October 2007).
